Earlier this school year, the TEE Foundation funded Ms. Wallace’s (MSE) grant for a Maker Space Cart. Ms. Wallace’s class had a Breaking Bridges friendly competition! Ms. Wallace’s 3rd group. Elliott, Kinsley, and Addison excelled with their bridge build. Their bridge held 110lbs before the hook for the bucket broke!! The TEE Foundation went LIVE to cover the, 25 years in the making event, of excavating the Pasemann Time Capsule! The contents will be available for public viewing on May 9th!

A few of our TEE Board Members participated in the Williamson County Retired Teachers Association (WCRTA) annual book project at THJohnson. The classes loved having you read to them, and they are so excited about the books you left for them. Mrs. Jeannie Hill, Mrs. Heather Klotz, and Mrs. Marilyn Tennill.

CONGRATULATIONS to the THS AcDec Team for their 3rd Place finish at NATIONALS!

Congratulations to Sergio Ibarra, Beau Bollinger and Cade Shirocky. These students from Legacy Early College High School have earned the Level 1 Certificate in Cyber Security from TSTC. Through this program, students learned skills to protect computer systems against unauthorized access, modifications and destruction. With this certification, they now qualify for Network/Field Service Technician jobs right out of high school.

Members of the Taylor Hi-Steppers volunteered and assisted Shepherd’s Heart in Taylor. The girls put together bags of food, and distributed Thanksgiving food and other grocery items to members of the Taylor community. The Hi-Steppers truly enjoyed giving back to our community and wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving.

Game Changer Grant in Action. In the spring of 2023, the TEE Foundation approved to fully fund the Game Changer Grant received by Mrs. Pierce, Mrs. Rush, and Mrs. Bunton from Main Street Elementary for a Sensory Room. The campus was pleased to announce the room is fully set up for the students and staff at MSE and we were lucky enough to receive a tour. Upon entering, the room is immediately calming. From the lighting, to the colors, to the sounds…the intentionality of the space is apparent. There is a variety of “comfortable places to be” in the room, as well as a black out tent that can be seen in the video. There are also calming activities for the students to participate in while in the room. This room is available for use to all students (accompanied by an adult) along with staff members, themselves. Mrs. Pierce, principal of MSE, stated the room’s purpose is for those who are over stimulated, in need of decompressing, those who have sensory issues, along with students who have behavior plans, to have a place to go and sit with those big emotions, feelings. Mrs. Pierce also informed us of the need for some students to be on “Sensory Diets” which was fascinating to learn about! These students can be set up on intervals throughout their day to come visit the Sensory Room. This schedule of visits can be extremely beneficial for helping the students in need, learn to self regulate their own stimulation levels. These pre scheduled visits can help the students to have successful days at school, to learn in the best environment possible. The room itself is amazing but truly to hear the words of the Admin and Staff at MSE in how it is being used for the intentional growth of their students is the real amazement. WELCOME!!! At tonight's school board meeting: The Taylor ISD School Board officially welcomed Dr. Jennifer Garcia-Edwardsen as Taylor ISD’s Superintendent. Welcome, Dr. Garcia! Please see an introductory letter from Dr. Garcia below. Good evening, Taylor ISD Community, I am incredibly grateful to the Taylor ISD School Board for selecting me as your Superintendent, and placing their trust in me to lead in a close-knit community that takes such pride in our students, schools and the rich heritage we have here. Over the next few months, one of my top priorities will be to actively engage with the Taylor community, to listen and learn in order to understand the fabric of Taylor and our strengths and areas of opportunity. Your insight is invaluable to Taylor ISD’s mission of Inspiring, Equipping and Empowering Every Student to Achieve their Unique Potential. Your voice will provide a clear understanding of our progress toward our District Goals, and how we can ensure each student receives the highest quality educational experience. Families are our partners, and I am committed to providing the leadership and support necessary to ensure that together, we are equipped with the tools needed for student success. There’s a gift shop downtown that has a sign on the side of the building, “A little Town, A Lotta Love.” My family and I are truly appreciative of the warm welcome and all the friendly smiles and kindness we have received. MSE Music Teacher and TEE Foundation grant recipient, Ms. Elaine, participated with her students at a Bass Pro event with the portable sound system, which she wrote her grant for. We LOVE seeing our grants “in action!” Thank you to our supporters who make this possible!

Temple College is launching a new Adopt-A-School program with five elementary schools in its service area. In Taylor, they are partnering with Pasemann Elementary, and today they began the new adventure with a ribbon cutting at the school. “I am excited about bringing opportunities to these students and creating space for college or whatever choices they want to make for their future,” said Billie Logiudice, External Relations/HSI STEM Advisor, Temple College. “I’m excited about coming in and being a part of what they have going on and showing them that college is an option.” “We are looking forward to the collaboration and promoting higher education,” said Pasemann Principal, Cynthia Proctor.
